Bienvenue à Pékin ! C’est l’hiver à Pékin ! Beaucoup de neige!
We were quite hesitant about going up the Great Wall because 1) we were worried about the insane crowds, 2) it was quite out of the way(like really really far), 3) we weren’t sure if we’re gonna see snow, and 4) I’m never the touristy kind. But we decided to go ahead anyways on the last morning before we left Beijing. After all, it’s one of the Seven Wonders of World!! It was the best decision during our trip in Beijing! 😊
It started snowing as soon as we arrived the ticketing area. Quick tip guys : Buy all your tickets (to and fro bus ride, to and fro cable car ride and entry ticket for the Great Wall) when you arrive! It’s a lot easier and faster when you get up there.
We were lucky enough to catch the first snow fall on the Great Wall! 😍 Apparently it had snowed the entire night before up in the mountains where Great Wall sits, while it was raining in the Beijing city-center.
It was not an easy breezy way up the mountain especially if you are a long-term inhaler user like me. 😱
With the altitude..remind me again how far are we off ground..? 😅
Basically, to go up to the Great Wall, you will go through the following..
– ticketing (arrival) area
– bus terminal (you have to take a bus to where to “entrance” to Great Wall
– TIME FOR A LITTLE HIKE (MORE LIKE INSANE TO ME)
– pass the entrance and HIKE MORE 😱
– climb the stairs up to the cable car area 😷
– take more steps (or an elevator for the needy)
– then you arrive!!
When you’re blessed with amazing friends.
Yes, you see it right. I then put them into an article and was published! 😊😊😊 Still can’t get over the chance I got. Thank b!
